If you depend on Luck, and a lot of good b'sing, you are not a salesperson, you are an order taker. For a truly professional, well trained salesperson, who has followed all the steps in the professional selling plan, the salesperson does not close the deal, the customer makes a buying decision by the salesperson asking for the order in the action section of the selling plan. The basic steps in the professional selling plan that the Salesperson should lead the customer through are: Curiosity, Interest, Conviction, Desire and Action. Many sales are lost because the (Order taker), not being a properly trained professional Salesperson, will try and go to action (Customer making a buying decision) when the customer never got to the Desire point (Wanting to own the product or service). A good Salesperson never sells anyone anything, the customer always makes a buying decision. This is a metaphor considering that the Salesperson has done everything else properly, the Salesperson asking for the order (In the action phase) will result in the customer saying yes There is a whole lot more to the Professional Selling Plan but unfortunately, neither you nor I have the time, nor the space in this answer section to cover them all.
