Your best bet would be to start your own business. Find out what needs are not being met in your community and go from there. Provide your services at a discount so that you can attract potential customers. An example of this would be: Web design. You could offer your services to small business owners, models (which you can find at local casting calls), etc. If you decide to pursue your own business, I would recommend that you get some business cards. This will provide you with a professional image and people are more likely to take you serious. Do a search online for free business cards (though you may be required to pay for shipping). I hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

I'm 14, I have a part time job at a discount store, on weekends it's $10 per hour, and on public holidays it's $17 per hour. So if you worked Saturday for 3 hours and Sunday for 3 hours, you have $60 in 2 days. Just hand in your resume at a local store, and if they're looking for jobs they will call you up and ask you to come in for an interview.

You need to get a work permit from your school, here is the info - http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/ct/we/wpfaq.asp You can get a job at 14, there are just certain time restrictions and also your school may have certain rules you must follow, like keeping a certain gpa, etc. You would go to your current school or school district for the permit. Look to see where kids your age are working. Talk to any kids at school that have jobs. You're a bit young for paid camp counselor work (usually it's 16), but you might call around local summer camps and check. Go to your city's website and see if they have any jobs or job counseling for youth. They might have something, sometimes at community centers, call and ask. Speak to your school counselor, often they will have connections to get you jobs you may not be able to get otherwise. Fast food, bus boy, retail stores are a good bet for teens. Look online, Google: teen jobs, jobs for teens and you'll find some like these: http://jobsearch.about.com/od/teenstudentgrad/a/teenjobsites.htm http://teens4hire.org/ http://www.jobdoggy.com/ It will be tough in this economy, but talk to people. Ask your parents, ask their friends, talk to your teachers. Networking is often the best way to hear about openings. But be very careful and make sure your parents are in the loop the whole time. Often jobs are not advertised, go into businesses that typically hire teens and ask about jobs. Don't be shy. Ask your parent if it is OK if you talk to certain neighbors about helping out with chores, gardening, mowing, pet care, cleaning up, kid entertaining (not babysitting, but entertaining a kid while the parent gets stuff done around the house), tutoring younger children. Lots of people have fired their gardeners due to the economy. Do you have a skill you are really good at? My teen son's karate teacher is just 3 years older than he is, she started teaching him when she was 15. He'd had typical macho guys, but when his teacher left the studio, the owner asked if we'd give her a try and it worked out great. Lifeguard, if you've got the skills, at our pool club the life guards/swim teachers are all teens, some 14 yrs old. Good luck!
