Entry Level Graphic Design Jobs?

Graphic Design employment agency in Orange County? (entry level)?

  • Hi, I know this has already been answered in a previous posting, but I'll ask again. I have a graphic design/Graphic Arts background from school. I'm currently unemployed and trying to get back into the Graphic Design field. The problem that I'm running into is twofold: 1. I've spent the majority of the last 15 years doing call center work for several major health care companies including Apria Healthcare and UnitedHealth Group. I have worked short times in the Graphic Arts industry but those were more than 10 years ago. Therefore, I don't have much work experience to show what I can do and what I know. 2. My schooling (2 Associate of Arts degrees) are from 1991 and 1995 respectively. Are my skills outdated? I've worked with Photoshop for many years. I've also learned Illustrator, QuarkExpress, Bryce, Vue, and more recently fractal programs like Apophysis. Can anybody point me in the right direction to an agency here in Orange County that's not only good @ what they do but has at least SOME postings/help on entry level jobs in the Graphic Design industry? Thank you :)

  • Answer:

Employment agencies don't typically deal with entry level work unless it's administrative type stuff. Are your skills outdated? If you are very versed in the current versions of the softward - you don't have to be on the MOST recent version but if it's more than 2 years old = yes.
