What does a medical receptionist do at the office?

What do I need to do in order to work as a receptionist in a doctors office in LA?

  • I have studies in health but internationally, right now I'm looking to re validate my studies here, but in the meantime I would like to work as a receptionist in a doctors office; however I'm having a hard time doing so because officially I have no studies here, what would be a good option for me to do in order to start working as a receptionist? thank you

  • Answer:

Generally reception requires a high school diploma, while many employers prefer a year or two of experience. Of course, reception requires you to be friendly, professional, articulate and organized. I would include your advanced education on your resume. Good luck!
