• I am trying to Start-up a Home Electronics Installation & Repair business. I Currently Post Ads on Craigslist, and have been getting some Responses, but not enough. What Other Sites are there like Craigslist, that I could Post on? And What can I do to Maximize the Potential of Responses from Craigslist?!?

  I'll address the maximizing of responses question. First determine your unique or competitive advantage or unique selling proposition (USP). Your Unique Selling Proposition answers the question, “Why should I buy from you now, instead of from someone else?”. It defines who and what you are. It is the reason you are in business. Why should prospects do business with you? How are they greater advantaged in doing business with you vs. any of your competitors? Your unique advantages tell the marketplace what you offer that others don’t. It’s about being different from everyone else and clearly and succinctly communicating what you do for your customers. It’s what they get that makes you the decisive choice over and above all other options. Some businesses think the USP is about who they are or what they do. The truth is your USP is about what you do for the customer. A good USP will have your prospect saying, “Oh really? I checked out your website. You're off to a good start. Here are some observations. 1. Don't host your site with Jimdo. Your website visitors may click on the Jimdo links which will take them away from your site. Also, you can't place meta tags and meta descriptions inside the html which would help with your seach engine listings. With web hosting so affordable I suggest getting a dedicated website name and host. 2. I would add an autoresponder. Offer something like a free report "Top 5 things Homeowners should know about Home Entertainment Systems" in exchange for their name and email. That way you can continue marketing your services even if they leave your site without contacting you. 3. Create a video and or photo section showcasing your work. 4. Collect customer testimonials and put them on your site. 5. Get listed on Google Maps Local Business Listings 6. Create more keyword specific web pages to get listed higher in google search results. Determine the long tail keywords your prospects would use when searching online for the types of service your provide, then create articles or blog posts that targets each keyword.
