The best first step would be to work at a daycare center, if you haven't already. That way, you learn about local regulations and best practices for child care. Being paid to learn is the best schooling! Hopefully you could work your way into an administrative job at the daycare place, to learn how that kind of business is run. After doing that, then start your own business.
