David, There are plenty of opportunities if you are willing to work. If you are willing to cut grass, weed gardens, even do housework, any families living in one of those higher-end subdivisions in Houston can use cheaper labor than the companies they now hire. Often, a real estate business will use a young person to clean apartments, homes, etc., prior to listing them. You can also offer to baby-sit. I know it is a girl thing, but when I lived in Houston (in an apartment), we could not find a willing babysitter we would gladly have paid top dollar for. However, I would not state a rate, I would only ask for "whatever you feel is appropriate". That way, you are humble, and do a good job. You will get repeat business, create a stable client base, and therefore regular income. People usually pay an hourly rate, than a tip on top of that. Good luck. :) Do a good job. Clean up the dishes, put back the toys, have the kids in bed, and clean up after yourself. Just my two cents.

David think bigger. 5 dollars is like minimum wage. If you want to get a PS 3, xbox with games at 5 dollars an hour you will have enough in about 3 or 4 years. ask for a little bit more. apply at target<<-- they are picky , mcdonalds, burger king.Look in the houston chronicle's classified -- jobs section and look for a paper called employment guide, and the spark.
