What is the VAT rate on electricity?

Who provides the best rate and service for electricity in the Houston area?

• I am hoping someone out there can give me advice. We have been with Gexa Energy for a good while. We originally had a very good rate with them that was locked in. When that contract expired, we called and were told that the month to month rate would be our smartest option. It was supposed to be based on the market but we get our bill this month after MAJORLY scrimping on electricity and it's 21.7 per kwh! I called them and the customer reps are not very informative and can't explain what this rate is based on (certainly not the market). I am trying to figure out which company in Cypress provides the best price... I am not opposed to a variable rate if it's based on the market and doesn't does shoot up for no reason but I am also wonder if a fixed rate isn't our best choice. We got a letter from TXU yesterday that offered $75 Visa Gift card, 3% cash back every year and a reward program but the rate is 14.8 per kwh (I called and asked). Anyone have a suggestion? Who do y'all use and love for a consistantly fair rate? I am just SICK that we are paying twice what we had been. I want to make this switch asap so I appreciate your thoughts and replies!
