NO "BLACK DESIGNERS" Welcome TO "FASHION In THE PARK" @North Park Mall in Dallas Tx.?

  • I was angered to find out that the so-called Big Fashion Event held in Dallas every year called "FASHION In THE PARK" @North park Mall don't cater to blacks. There's not one well known black designer, such as Babyphat,Diddy's "Sean John", Nellie's "Apple Bottom",Jay-z's "Roca wear". Didd'ys "Sean John" clothing line won best designer in the world out doing, Oscar Della Renta,Armani,Bebe,All the Big "WHITE" Designers put together, but North park can't invite any of these very successful clothing companies to "Fashion In The PARK?? CAN YOU SAY!!! "PREJUDICE"?? I sure can and it's time to get to the bottom of THIS! Hummm! Something's very fishy about this situation! There are just as many black's who spend hard earned money @North Park Mall as there are whites or any other race, but yet it's a slap in the face to us blacks who shop there by the Northpark-Managemnet Group and the organizers of "FASHION In THE PARK" @North park Mall. Fortunately for us black clothing designers, a well known Black Promoter from Dallas is having a Big Fashion Event on the same weekend "FASHION In PARK" called “BLACK FASHION WEEKEND 2009 featuring an event called The BMA's "BLACK MODELS AFFAIR". begins on Fri. 10/9 and Sat 10/10 2009. The BLACK MODELS AFFAIR /Black Fashion Weekend will allow black models, black clothing designers a chance to get the Great "Exposure" they so desperately want and NEED and allow young aspiring black models, designers, photographers and partygoers and opportunity to network and party in a very Upscale and Sophisticated environment!! Kudu’s to Mr."TYE DIGGS" The CEO of Black Fashion Weekend and The BMA's Black Models Affair. This IS JUST WHAT THE “DOCTOR” ORDERED!!! This will be the first of it's kind in Dallas and the first of it’s kind in the Fashion Industry.     Wow!!! Sounds like we have a lot of angry and unpleasant people out there!!! Now I'm not the one to bash out or even lash out on anyone, but the sarcastic comments could have been left out!!! To all of the ones who answered to this question you all are so childish and really need to grow up because OUR BLACK DESIGNERS AND WHAT THEY CREATE ARE BEING WORN BY ALL RACES ESPECIALLY THE OTHER RACES! I love my BLACK FASHION DESIGNERS AND I GIVE THEM PROPS FOR WHAT THEY HAVE ACCOMPLISHED! ***yes crap does happen but little DWIGHT this is not crap THIS IS SUCCESS!!! SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED TO GET OVER WHATEVER YOU NEED TO GET OVER!! LOL! ***AND HONEY AS FOR YOU, LOL! YOU ARE IGNORANT TO HAVE LEFT SUCH A COMMENT LIKE THAT I MEAN REALLY STOP HATING!!!! Hello- I wanted to respond with a meaningful and well-written reply, but I can't get past all the shouting, terrible grammar and punctuation. Perhaps your time would be better spent in a remedial English course, not ranting like a lunatic on Yahoo.

If you want, you can call them and ask. If they say no, ask why and tell them you want an explanation. Talk to them in a calm tone so you'll get more information. There are a lot of blacks here in Dallas and if it's true that they are discriminating, it will cost them a lot of business.

I am deeply and extremely ashamed at thatartist's comment, Honestly, what are you saying? That black designers are good for making cheap clothing? I've spent horrible money on over priced items that tore in half next day, but have bought shoes priced at 20.00 (Yes by Rocawear) That are still in perfect condition till this day! So you, are definetly wrong my friend! She's not asking for any handouts, she's just giving her opinion. so maybe you just should keep your wise little comments to yourself.

Hi honey. The reason most of the designers you mention were not featured there is because their clothing is poorly made and tacky with the exception of Sean John. In addition, it is not an "invitation" event....so it would be up to the designers themselves to contact the promoters. Did you know that? No? You should have researched that... before you pulled out your so overused race card it looks like it was stuck between a 60 year old crack whores thighs for the past decade. Wise up sweety. Your blackness is not going to get you any handouts so you might want to use your brain (thats hoping you even have one given this ignorant post of yours).
