  You can work just about anywhere, however. It is up to employers if they can fit a work permit into their scheduling. If I remember correctly, you will only be able to work until 7 on school nights and I think 11 on weekends. The type of work you are allowed to be assigned is also limited. Specifically machines that may be dangerous. You will want to verify the specifics, but retail is usually a good place to start. If you are thinking fast food, smaller restaurants are easier to learn at than big chains from my experience. My husband used to sweep floors at an automotive shop when he was your age.
