How long is a typical call back for a job?

How long till I get a call back saying I got the job?

• I interviewed at Boston Market last wednesday, it's been 3 days since already, and I still haven't gotten a call back. The lady I interviewed with was the assistant manager. She said the manager who was suppose to interview me had to go to an unexpected meeting and that she would inform him about me. She said he would then decide if I got the job and call me back. She said that I seemed like a very nice girl and that she really thinks that I'll soon be joining the team but that the decision wasn't up to her. She also said that I answered the questions very well. I'm trying to stay positive, but I feel like if I really did get the job that they would have already called me back. How long till I know that I'm probably not going to get a call back and didn't get the job?

  After a week I called back and they said they would call me within the next week. Only a few days later they called me and asked if I wanted to start. I would call them back in the next couple of days if you don't hear from them.
