How do I start off as a CNA?

How much do cna's start out making at salem village nursing home in joliet, IL?

  • I applied here about 4 days ago for a CNA position and I think I might get the job because they are hurting for people from what I heard but I also have an interview at another long term care facility and the pay is how I'm going to decide where I'm going to work. So if anyone knows how much the cna's start out at there, would you please let me know?!?! Thanks! :)

    I'm not sure, but I have heard that it's not enough. I've had a few friends that have worked there and have never heard a positive experience. From what I understand from them the owners only care about making money and will step all over their nurses and patients to get it.

I can't answer your question. You don't say how much experience you have as a CNA. If I were you, I would start googling the nursing homes where you intend to apply, checking for Medicare ratings, and nursing turnover.
