ok so i live in milwaukee, wi and i remember going to a mall when i was younger but dont remember the name of it. it was a shopping mall that was an outdoors mall, one where you walk outside to get from one store to the other. and i know it was in chicago or schaumburg or somewhere near there. i want to go back there but dont know the name so i obviously cant look it up. i remember it had a tiffany's, saks fifth avenue banana republic, and not really sure about the others. i thought it was woodfield mall but it turns out not to be. does anybody know what mall im talking about?

Hello, It depends how long ago you were 'younger'. If it was the 90s or late 80s that you are talking about, then it was probably Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. I always enjoyed that place and still do except in the winter when you go from sub zero temps outside to blasting heat inside. If you are talking about early 80s or late 70s (like when I was 'younger') then you could be talking about Golf Mill Mall in Niles. WAY BACK in the day Golf Mill was all outdoors, they enclosed it I believe around 1982 and has been that way ever since (and has gone down hill ever since too). I am pretty sure you are NOT talking about Woodfield - it is in Schaumburg but from what I have known it has never been enclosed, it has always boasted being 'one of the world's largest malls based on indoor retail space'. Take care... DJ

Well, that depends how far from Schaumburg you mean- there is Old Orchard like someone here mentioned, there is Oak Brook mall. Both have Tiffany stores as well as Banana Republic- Saks 5th in Old Orchard went out of business, I am not even sure if there was one in Oak Brook...

Oakbrook Center in Oakbrook, Illinois. Open since 1962, and currently have stores including Bloomingdale's Home, Lord & Taylor, Macy's, and Neiman Marcus. I believe this is the one you are referring to.
