How can i buy share in international markets?

I'm interested in starting to sell at flea markets, what are my first steps?

  • I'm interested in starting to sell at flea markets. What are the first steps to go about this goal. Do I need to contact the city of Illinois to ask for a tax number, etc. I'm not sure how to go about this? Also, is there anyone out there who has sold at flea markets? Can you share some of your experiences and how much you have made and how much you had to invest? Did you make a worthy profit? Also, can you give me some websites or places to go in Illinois that I can buy items to sell wholesale. Where are some great fleamarkets to sell at in Illinois and surrounding suburbs? Thanks for any help. It is appreciated

I sold at flea markets for years. It used to be great! I could make a weeks pay in a day, but then the bottom dropped out of the market. I got out 3 years ago and my friend is still in, but having a difficult time of it. We're in MO, but my cousin in Florida who sold for years also, just got out too. I just wouldn't know what to tell you as to what would sell or how you'll do. I enjoyed it very much and met lots of wonderful people. You will have to decide how much you need to make to make it worth it to you to do it. I sold in Ill. and never got a license or permit and was never asked for one. That was in Bellville, they have a flea market the 3rd weekend of every month. Give it a go and see how you do is all I can say. Good Luck!

You are suppose to get a vendor's license from the state of illinois before you sell. Many flea markets do not check for them but you are suppose to have one. When you ready to start selling you do have 2 options. You can just show up and grab the next best location that is open or you can lease a space and have the same location reserved for you every week. Its just like running any business. It falls upon supply and demand. Most people are looking for bargains and want to haggle on the price at a flea market. But it is possible to achieve a following of repeat customers. My advice is go to the flea market you plan to sell at and walk around and see if anyone has merchandise similar to yours and see how they are doing first. What are their prices. Can you compete? Once you do you research there you'll now where to go next. But remember just like all business...there are good and bad days.

first of all i would suggest obtaining a vendors license through your local city hall!!!!!! after that... you'll need to check out the necessary legal needs in your city/county!!!!! either city hall or maybe even the flea market itself will be able to give you this info. flea market selling can be a great source of income but as always it will depend on your product, the economy, consumer traffic flow, etc... try it out and good luck
