Where can i find a job that hires a 14 year old in my area?

• Okay, im 14 and I hate having to ask my mom for money.I would like to be a little more independent because I see my mom struggling and i feel like a burden when i ask her to help out paying my phone bill and buying school supplies. So I would like to get a job, one thats close by because i dont have a car and i would like to help out my mom more.

  Since you're 14 you're limited to the amount of hours you can work in Illinois- 3 hours a day, maximum 24 a week. There is also restrictions on the type of jobs you can do- nothing involving machinery for example. So that leaves you with very few choices. You're best bet is to try to get into something run by the government, a park district for example. They're more willing to hire minors. That or find something like babysitting or dog walking. Most larger companies in Illinois are careful about hiring minors because the state has been cracking down on child labor violations.
