Can 14 year olds get jobs at supermarkets?

  • I live in Massachusetts so our local major supermarkets are Shaw's and Stop & Shop. Would they hire 14 year olds for any jobs? I'm kinda desperate I'll do bagging/mopping anything available:)

    Yea you can. You can bag, get carts, do some work out back, and in some places you can use the cash register. Every place is a little different. You also need parental consent and after they have accepted you within like a week or two you need to get a teens working permit.

Probably, with parental consent. You'd have to ask them. I'm sure they would let a 14 year old work, if your parent(s) sign a paper saying you can and that it's not child labor.

You might be able to with parental consent. Also depends on the store. Talk to the hiring manager and ask. You just might be able to get a job. Just try. You never know.
