I have put in a Kroger Application, how do I check on the status?

I'd go by the store when the Store Manager is there, looking professional like you are ready for another interview, and say "I'd like to check the status of an application. I applied for a (cashier) job on (day and date, ie. tuesday the 30th). Have you made any interview or hiring decisions yet?" and if he says everything is still in process say "I am very interested in this position. When do you expect to reach a decision or when could I check back?" I would not ask the Manager come to the front of the store. Ask customer service or another employee where he is in the store and the walk over to that area...unless he's in the back and then have customer service call him. Remember to say Thank you and His or Her name! Thank you Mr. Smith. I appreciate your consideration for the (bagger) position. Thank you (or thanks) for your time. Remember to smile, be friendly, professional, don't slouch, and wear business casual...khaki or black pants--no jeans. You don't have to wear a tie, pullover shirt is okay with t-shirt underneath.
