What kind of spider was it?

What kind of spider is this?

  • Back in 2009, I was at my desk and I felt what seemed like a mosquito bite on my left arm.. I did nothing to "woosh" away the mosquito, thinking it'd stop or go away but it got progressively painful and as I said "ouch" loudly and turned to look at my arm there was a white spider with a green-ish tint? I flicked it off with my finger and the bite mark started itching, then I started feeling some repeated nerve shocks every 3-5 or so minutes. My interest peaked about what kind of spider this was only a few hours ago. The memory of it came back to me and now I'm just curious. There isn't much of an importance whether I do find out what this spider is or not - its affected the way I look about spiders now since I'm deathly afraid of them after that experience. Hah. Anyone who knows what I'm talking about and has information to give me, it would be very appreciated and thank you! If it helps any, before I flicked the spider it had its legs spread almost like a V, it was white/green in color, small and the venom (I am assuming) was affecting the nerves in my arm because the shock feeling always made me clutch my arm.

  • Answer:

the only thing you can do to identify this spider is to google images of spiders and pick out the one for yourself then see if its in your location for elimination purposes after you find it then google its bite symptoms best we can do for you since you don't have a picture and we have too much missing information like geographical location and time of year

virtually impossible to ID a spider or any other insect like creature from a description. there are over 100,000 species of spiders alone. you did not say where you are from or any other info. sorry pip if it was a whitetail her symptoms would have been much worse than localized pain. their venom goes systemic fairly quickly

Which country are you in? It might be a white tail spider like the nasty ones in New Zealand??
