What's unique about Raleigh, North Carolina?

Whats it like to live in N.Carolina, more specific. Raleigh/Durham area? Is it strip mallish or w.character?

  • Looking to move out of freezing Central NY. Am a chiropractor and want to go into a community where natural therapies are accepted... also looking for a warmer area, have looked at Philly and Northern VA so far... any ideas?

    Cities in theTriangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) retain a fair amount of character. But there is growing homogenization in the suburbs with alternating subdivisions of McMansions and tract housing, and more strip malls than you want to shake a stick at. It's still better than a lot of places, including central NY state.

Here in Raleigh many people are very friendly. I am sure that you would like it here. But i cant really tell you much cause I dont like it because I am studying here and so I am far away from my loved ones.
