How much is electricity?

Very expensive electricity!! Can anyone tell me how much their bills are to compare?

  • I have just moved into a small 3 bedroom flat and it is solely electricity (no gas) we are with EDF energy. For two weeks our electricity was £109. There are three of us living here so thats 3 showers a day, we didn't have the heating on when we first moved in so that doesn't include heating. We have one TV which is on regularly (never on standby) and 3 laptops which are charging quite regularly and a vivarium which always has the light and heater plugged in. We use the oven and microwave and stuff fairly often but rarely leave the switches on. I don't think that using electricity like that could get such a big bill, although I have never had to pay one before...can someone tell me how much you pay so I can compare some prices. Do you think my meter could be broken? Or do you think EDF are just rip offs? Can you suggest any other electricity companies which may reduce my bill? Thanks very much!!!

I have just switched electricity companies (UK) and used the site given on www.save-money-guide.com/save-money-gas. It was easy and worked a treat. EDF are an expensive company. The company saveonyourbills mentioned on the site searched around and it was so easy. the produced a table showing the charges that all the companies made. To keep on top of things you really should check your bills once every year to make sure you are getting the best bargain. Best of luck.
