Where are some good places to live in London for a young professional?

Good places to live around london?

• Right, a little background about me; I'm a 19 year old female business management student studying in Guildford (University of Surrey) I will be graduating in 2013 and want to get my own place. Bearing in mind that I will be a 21 year old, and probably will be looking for a 1 bed (or 2 bed..) HOUSE (not flat!) with an approx budget of 150k, where are good value areas to live with good links to london? At the moment I'm thinking Dartford, Gravesend, Bexleyheath, Erith areas of Kent, however I'm not sure if these are good areas.. maybe a little rough? The places I'm considering are; Essex Kent Surrey However, probably not Surrey as I live here now and know that it is expensive! I will not consider living in London or greater london because I don't believe you get value for money here.

  Why limit yourself by staying in the southeast? I grew up near Guildford and have lived in the southwest York and now the peak district near Sheffield Manchester and stoke. There are jobs good people scenery friendly community spirit and it is great. Don't be so fixed. Look for a good job and try different places. You can always move on till you find places you like. Living near London seems to me to me to have all the disadvantages - cost and pollution etc with few if any of the advantages. If you live in Edith it is as much trouble for you to go to a central London concert or whatever as for me!
