How fast does Lucky Bamboo grow?

I saw some at Lowes so i plucked off the top 1/4 inch of it with the leaves about 3 days ago. Don't judge. So far I have put it in a shot glass with the stem completely covered in water with a little rock so it can stand straight with all of the leaves exposed and it sits about 8 feet from my window on my computer desk with just a little bit of sunlight. It seems to be doing very well. It has turned a darker green then what it was at Lowes and has grown to half an inch now. Will the stem grow at a quicker rate once it gets bigger?
