How to make a fire in the wild, without burning the ground?

My dad keeps burning plastic in the fire we have in the fireplace, how can I make him stop?

  • Burning plastic releases toxic fumes right? I've told him this already but he keeps forgetting and just putting plastic into the fireplace and burning it. I'm worried about everyone breathing in the fumes how can I get him to realise I am being serious and burning plastics is really dangerous?

    burning plastics and bad things in your fireplace will coat your chimney and will catch fire one day,, plus all that bad stuff from them will be in your home,, tell him to stop or you will CAP the chimney on the roof !

SPANK HIM? worked when you were a kid..... Put a recycle bin somewhere close to the fireplace and ask him to use it.You might even carry the recyclables out if you are old enough to drive or if you have a recycle program in your area, take it to that location

Report him to the Environmental Health at your local council, you can say you live in the neighbourhood and there's a weird smell coming from the chimney, don't give your name and they'll come and have a word with him.
