How do I identify if mold is toxic black mold?

• I'm renovating a house for my boss and it had black mold all over the ceilings, walls and floors (mostly in the bathroom) How do I tell if it's "toxic black mold"? and how sick can it make me? what are the symptoms of sickness? the house in old, humid and not very well ventilated so it makes since that this house would have mold but is all black mold toxic? or is there just one kind of ?Toxic black mold"?

  Toxic mold is not differentiated by its color. There are even some white molds are toxic. So, don't take risk with mold. Generally people reacts to mold differently. When 2 persons living in the same environment with mold growth, one may react strongly with symptoms like persistent cough, itchy throat, nasal congestion, breathing difficulty, or skin rashes; while the other may not have any symptom at all. In severe cases, mold can cause asthma attack in people who is sensitive to mold. Put on protective gears whenever you deal with mold infected areas. Wear respirator to filter the hazardous tiny mold spores, goggles to protect eyes from the spores, long rubber gloves. Do not touch molds with your bare hands. They are very poisonous. You can try to remove those areas with minor mold infection. Use normal detergent like Borax with warm water to scrub off the mold. Make sure you dry the areas thoroughly after the cleaning. Mold thrive on moisture. So make the areas as dry as possible. You can also practice a weekly rinse with vinegar to prevent mold growth. Hope this helps.
