Where can I find out who lived in my house before me?

How can i find out who lived and died in a house?

  • Weird things are happening to a friend and she has heard that someone may have died there. Her parents have lived there for over twenty years and we want to know who lived there bfore.

  • Answer:

I wanted to know the same thing a few years a go. Your best bet would be the clerk and recorders office at the local courthouse. Thats where I went, and I found out that only one person died in my house (old age) and that my house was originally a homestead schoolhouse that was won in a gambling bet., moved into town and added on to. Pretty rad huh? there is a plethora of info at the courthouse!! Hope this helps!!

www.1851.com. It's a subscription census website - you have to buy vouchers and it's a bit like pay-per-view. Or try the land registry, www.genesreunited.co.uk if you know the name or local records office. Good luck!!

If you own the house city hall can show you the past owners. But there can be a spirit in a home even if no one died there. Don't play with an Ouija board, they are dangerous and can invite evil entities into your home. Instead have the home blessed. See my answer to a similar question where a small child was taking to deceased family member (sorry sometimes when a question is similar to another you answered it's easier to cut and paste. ******* Okay here's some food for thought. Does this sort of thing run in your family? Do you know of any other family members who have had experiences like this? Are you sure there is no way your nephew couldn't have heard about the deceased from another family member. Little kids pick up the darnedest things. So if you've ruled out every reasonable possibility and you honestly believe he's seeing an entity here's some helpful advice. Does it make sense for the deceased to say he'd stay around to protect a child? By this I mean was this person a caring one who would do something like that? If not, it's kinda odd. There is always the chance the spirit ISN'T your relative. Names mean allot to entities and if this isn't your relative then talking to, acknowledging or encouraging this could be a BAD IDEA. A name is power and spirits like people can lie so be careful. Also showing themselves in this manner IE talking AND interacting takes up a great deal of energy so he's either strong or drawing all his energy from your nephews. I would not say anything to the children but keep a watchful ear and eye on them. Maybe keep a journal about what happens to determine if there's a pattern and decide how to precede from there. If you are uncomfortable have your house blessed. Sometimes something as simple as painting a room or doing some home renovation can run off a spirit. You could do an exorcism but that involves addressing the spirit and challenging it. Sometimes this works, sometimes it only pi$$es it off so save it as a last resort. Plus if this is a family member then you may not want to kick him out. Whatever you do, do NOT EVER use an Ouija board. If you are sorely tempted it is better to move then to use the board. Most magick shops don't even carry these boards because they are dangerous and using one may invite whatever entities that are in your local area to move into your house (and those kind of guests never pay rent or clean up after themselves just kidding) but seriously some are inhuman IE demonic so don't go there. I hope that helps you. I'm sorry for the long answer. God bless and don't ever forget Jesus's name is powerful and darker spirits shy away from it so invoking him when you are scared or just asking him to watch over you will push away some entities. And yes this still works even if you don't go to church. :o) Source(s): Family, life and a little research.

you could try the clerk recorder's office, they hold all the records for birth, death, marriage and property. i believe a death in a house has to be disclosed at the purchase but it may not in your state.
