Why does my incense smell like smoke when I burn it?

If you burn candles and incense, will it smell really good, or would it smell bad and be overwhelming? ?

  • I have a bunch of animals and my house is rather small, and I'm cleaning so my mom doesn't ground me, and I need it to smell really really good. I have incense and candles, if I burned both, would it smell really good, or bad, or just overwhelming?

    It doesn't matter what kind of candle unless they are scented but incense It depends on what kind you use Tibetan can be very smoky and leaves a residue on everything You wont believe how much muck comes out of the curtains for example I don't believe your Mum would be best pleased when she sees how much more cleaning is involved Indian incense can leave an after smell that some people object to Many people believe the very best incense is made in Japan It is very low smoke There are many different fragrances to choose from and is not at all overpowering The cheaper ones can by burnt all day and gives the whole house a lovely fragrance yes even with animals there too

same scents would be overwhelming. contrasting scents would be a bad combination. burn one then another if different scents. /Jerome

i burn both all the time . th ecandles dont really smell of much .

Burning incense is great as long as it is a clean smell, candles are a good addition to it as long as the scents blend well together..for example Vanilla Candle and Lavender Incense. Don't do floral and woodsy smells together like rose candles and sandalwood incense. Make sure they work well together so your room doesn't smell weird but clean and fresh.

It really depends on the person you are, and if you're in a crowded room or not. I do recommend dragon blood though, sounds a tad strange but great smell. :) Maybe just keep it to the simple incense and no candles, but candles don't really send out a strong smell, so whatever. haha

it would be overwhelming. If you clean right, the house should smell clean. Candles alone should be plenty of smell. I think incense smells like someone has been smoking dope.

Could be overwhelming. I'd try using Febreeze instead, and then a few candles here and there.
