How to get worms out of my house?

How do you get rid of worms in the house?

  • Lately, I have been finding little worms in the basement. They're really tiny (probably no more than a centimeter long) and dark (like a dark brownish I think). I've only seen a few and only just recently, but my dad says that we've had this problem for a while. We're not sure how they're getting in here (we have a sump pump and water heaters, etc, but I've found some in my basement room which is kinda far for those little worms to travel). But anyway, I've vacuumed them up, but I know they'll be back later. How do I get rid of them for good? Also, my dad says cats might help. We do have four cats, but they're not allowed in the basement due to previous cats messing up the carpet and this carpet's only a few months old. My dad doesn't want to risk them messing up the carpet.

  • Answer:

If they have a lot of legs they are millipedes. They are coming from a moist place. Vacuuming them is the way to get rid of them. Finding out how they are getting in the basement and blocking their way will get rid of them. They might be coming in under the sink if you have one there.

would need to see a pic to know exactly what you are calling a worm...there are some dark colored maggots that would be around the area you are describing,..could be true worms..could be other crawling arthropods
