Whats your electric bill?

  • ok, so i live in texas and it gets HOT down here, but i've been trying to keep the elec bill down. so for awhile i was turning the central air off during the day but having to turn it on by like 4 cause the house was reaching 85. but my bill came 166 still. so is it better to just keep it on all day at like 77 or 78 or turning it off like i was?? this is the first house we've owned and at my parents house we had window units so any ideas..??

    Do you have a fan to circulate air through your attic. Also anything you can do to shade the south and west sides of the house, esp the windows. Depending on the size of your house, $166 is not too bad. Ours is about $100 when we have run the AC for a month. Generally we only need it a couple hours a day as the nights cool off to the mid 60's.

i live in the dfw area. i get my power from txu. i would be happy to have a bill like yours and so would most other people here. in another month or so you will look back on the $166 as the good old days. my house is about 1800 sq ft.
