to preserve them you can hang the entire rose upside down and it will dry them out to their original form they will come out as perfect as the day they were given to you :) all you would have to do is GENTLY pull them off the stem later. it normally takes a few days to dry.

No, but you can hang them upside down in a dark place tape each stem with the rose part down. Make sure that they don't touch. Forget about them and they will dry beautiful. After they are dried go to Michael's they have clear round ornaments and they are excellant size. They look like glass and they open so you can put one single rose but leave a very short stem on the rose. Now, add some dried baby breath or artificial kind. You can also tie a pretty ribbon to the hole at the top of the clear ball. I do this from roses for my friends family after the funeral. Their love ones are remembered by their roses. Sorry, freezing them will just make them turn black and when they defrost turn to mush....ick. Go to a florist and ask if you can buy some older roses at a discount when you want to do something romantic. Beware they can stain carpet and fabric if crushed.

Freee drying flowers requires special equipment that will take the temps down to approximately -20 degrees, farenheit.. The equipment also extracts moisture from the blooms. I don't know that a home freeer would work. May I suggest air drying either the petals or blooms? To air dry the petals, remove them from the flower and place them on something where they have good air flow. I use an old window screen atop four bricks, one brick at each corner of the screen. Place them in a warm dry place out of direct sunlight. Check them daily. When the petals are dry to your satisfaction, place them in a container. To dry the enitre bllom(s), you will need a coat hanger and a piece of twine. Tie one end of the twine to the rose's stem, turn the rose with the bloom facing the ground and tie the other end of the twine to the coat hanger. Hang the rose in a warm dry place out of direct sunlight for about 10-14 days. At the time you can either snip off the dried bloom and place it in a container or stand the dried rose(s) in a vase. You want the roses to dry upside down because the bloom is heavy. If you have ever noticed a wilting rose bent over ina vase you know what I mean. Drying the flower upside down keep the stem straight as it dries. Good luck!
