What kind of bamboo for my climate?

What kind of bamboo do I have?

  • It's just like a houseplant. I bought it in a greenhouse in Toledo Ohio. It has no actual canes like normal bamboo. Its real thin. The lady said it's fast growing and like low light and moist conditions. Has leaves just like a bamboo. She said it spreads like mad to fill the pot when you re pot it. Maybe a foot to 15 inches. I thought she said it was cedar mill bamboo but it doesn't look like it when I search it. Thanks In Advance, Joshua Rhoades

  • Answer:

most "house plant" bamboo has a name of Lucky Bamboo, it actually is not a type of bamboo but Dracaena sanderiana, a plant that just looks like a member of bamboo family.
