Are bed bugs ever black?

I found two small black, round, bugs in my bedroom today on a towel next to my bed on the floor. Help!?

  • I have found these bugs before. I have seen them on my wall (not a bunch at a time, just one or two) and today I found two crawling on a towel that was beside my bed on the floor. They are about 2 millimeters big (tiny!) and they are round. I looked at them with a magnify glass and I can't see where there is a head separated from the body. its all together. I'm pretty sure there's a hard shell and they are black. I can see a little bit of a design. Not sure if its zig zag or spotted but the design is a grayish tanish brownish color. Please help! I need to know what they are! And is there anywhere I should look for more? Under my bed? Under the mattress?

    Carpet beetles. Vacuuming a lot and a lot along the baseboards will get the fuzzy larvae and the bugs. Spray is not need. The site has good information.

Don't take my word for it, but they sound like ticks. I get them a lot at camp, and they sound exactly like this. They are bloodsucking, like mosquitos, but they don't just bite and go away. They embed in your skin, and are very hard to get off. They are also very hard to kill, just stepping on them won't do it. You can burn them with a match or lighter, or you can use a knife to cut them in half. A good place to look would be on your head- They're usually there. Just check yourself regularly for them, and try your best to pull them off. As far as getting rid of them, my best advice would just be to talk to an exterminator.

You can build sticky barriers between you and any non-flying blood sucking insects anywhere any time at home. You can easily kill all of these insects.
