How much acreage is in a lot?

How do i calculate acreage for my property?

  • i think my lot is bigger than stated on our county's gis page. how can i calculate the acreage myself? the lot is 169.51 x 134.76 x 68 x 70.93. thanks!

  • Answer:

This is not exact, but it looks like you have about 1/4 acre - .24260. I got this by adding the two long sides and dividing by two, the adding the 2 short sides and dividing by 2, then multiplying the result and dividing by the square feet in an acre (43560): 169.51 x 134.76 = 304.27/2 = 152.135 68 x 70.93 = 138.93/2 =69.465 Then multiply 152.135 x 69.465 = 10568.057 Divide by 43560 (square ft/acre) =.24260 It sounds like you have a trapezoid. There's another dimension you need to get a more accurate calculation, and you can check it out here: http://www.leaprealtors.com/acreage_calc.htm
