Do i have to separate the watermelon plants in a bonnie plants peat pot before i put them in the ground?
-
i bought a Bonnie brand watermelon plant from the store but there are, what looks like, 4 individual plants in the one pot. the directions say nothing about separating them but ive read every where that watermelon plants need at least 5 ft to grow. do i just put the whole biodegrade-able peat pot in the ground or do i try and separate them?

Answer:
Melons are typically planted in a mound of soil with 3 or 4 plants. Plant the pot...it will be fine. If you plant additional mounds, they should be separated by 5' to 8'.
