How much would it cost to install сruise сontrol?

Does anyone know why it cost so much to install a tankless water heater?

  • Have to replace my water heater. I got estimates from 2 companies and It will cost about $900 but the same company will charge about $3400 for a tankless water heater. I looked up the prices for the units and they only cost about $1100 for the mid range Tankless water heaters. so why is the cost of installation double the cost of the unit? while the cost of installing a traditional hater heater is only about $200. I know it only takes a few hours to do either? could it be because they take for granted that I will get about $1000 back on my tax return next year for using a tankless system that they think they should be able to over charge? or is there a reason I am missing here?

    tank less htrs.cost more but the price your saying 2500 I would to believe to be with the unit,(gas or electric you didn't mention),gas htrs have to be vented outside,depending on where your htr is as to the cost of the vent pipe which is very high priced.your gas likely will have to be increased in size min 3/4 inch gas line for a max of 14 feet otherwise 1 inch line.A normal unit fires at 250,000 btus that lots of gas.lime build up is a problem which needs to be cleaned once a year.(your old htrs build up lime also) s/b cleaned.the plumber who installs the heater is responsible for the labor for a year and their not going to leave that not figured in.

Tankless water heaters are much more technical to install. They have to be vented and connected to water and electrical sources in specific ways. You just don't set it on the floor and hook it up. It has to be mounted, usually on a wall, and all the connections run to it. $2500 for installation does sound kind of steep though.

There are many specifications that must be followed in order for the unit to have warranty coverage. You also need to check the hardness of your water, since they don't do well with hard water. Make sure that whoever installs it, also does maintenance work on them. Many Plumbers install them, but not all work on them.

Another factor with the tankless water heaters is they require a stainless steal exhaust. The distance between the heater and an outside wall will effect the overall price of installation.

First of all the tank-less type is not good to produce enough volume of hot water so if you have a family that likes to take hot baths or does clothes washing in hot water.You will need a larger more costly unit! The install process is different and is preformed by a skilled technician who can determine relocation of pipes hook up the new flue and run a new electrical circuit. If you can get the electrical circuit with proper amperage to the needed location I am sure you will save on your install cost.Call a couple more companies and find one to come to the house and look at your situation. You may also ask to see a saving comparison verses the tank unit, also keep in mind the overall pay off if you plan to stay in the home for many years to come then ok but if you think you are going to sell next year then no I would not do it
