How do you start a teen-magazine?

My Kenmore HE3 dryer won't start, but will click when I hit the start button. How can I get it to start?

• There is power to the dryer because the light turns on. I can choose a drying setting, but nothing happens when I hit the start button except for a clicking noise and a beep. There are no codes that appear in the display that would indicate a certain problem needs to be addressed. When I pick a setting the check lint light flashes. Then when I hit the start button it clicks and a beep sounds (it is the beep the machine makes when you always hit start). The lint light then stops flashing, but the machine will not start. The drying time still appears, but it won't do anything else. When I hit cancel or pause it clears the time, but then it does the same thing as before when I chose a drying selection and try to start it. I have cleaned out the lint screen.

  It could be that you have a problem with the control panel. I hope not. I have two suggestions - both assuming that the panel is not fried. Try unplugging it or turning off the power at the breaker panel. This should reset the controls. Weather this works or not, make sure that the whole dryer vent is clear. I often find a clog in the flexible line, or where the duct exits the house. I have also had situations where the clogged duct caused a lint plug inside the dryer. Assuming you can reset the controls, you can run the dryer for a minute with the hose unhooked to see if you are venting the right amount of air. Good luck, wet shorts are no fun.
