IS THERE A WAY TO STOP A LEAK IN THE PIPING OF AN IN-GROUND SWIMMING POOL?
-
I have an in ground swimming pool and it has concrete all around it. The pool has been filled and water is seeping out somewhere, evidently somewhere in the piping system underground. Is there any type of "stop leak" that can be put in the water, such as for a leaking radiator on a car, that would seal any places that the water is seeping out, but not ruin the pool for swimming? This is a one piece fiberglas pool that was installed 8 years ago, but has never been filled with water, until now, so no leaks were ever detected until we just filled it.

Answer:
i own a pool company.and what you need to do is find a pool company that does that kind of repairs.call different pool dealers and ask them if they do that and how much it will cost.they should have a listening device just for that repair.it allows them to find exactly where the leak is

A pool that has been set and not used for over 8 years? The piping is not accessible? You might want to re-pipe it if you are considering using the pool in the future. I'm not a pool guy nor have I ever owned a pool, but just knowing pools require maintenance and you might want to consider it.
A pool service company can find out exactly which pipe is the problem. They can temporarily plug each pipe with an inflatable bladder, and see which pipe empties. Then (unfortunately) your going to have to dig to get at the pipe in question. A plumber MAY be able to dig to the pipe without going through the concrete slab. .....good luck.
Do it right
CK for cracks at fittings, skimmer and drain in pool. Line up your pipe's from the equipment to the pool, most builders only dig one trench to install, someone may have nick a pipe digging or maybe a tree root

Afraid not, looks like an excavation job.
