Can I use type B CFL bulbs in a fixture specified for "type A" bulbs?
-
I bought a CFL bulb for my ceiling light, but just realized that it says to use type B bulbs instead of type A bulbs. I am using only 23 w while the limit is 60 w. As far as I can tell, the only difference between A and B bulbs is the shape. Is it safe to use type B bulbs in a socket specified for type A bulbs?

Answer:
You're right... A/B is just the shape of the bulb. since your'e using low wattage bulbs you should be fine. A is a bit larger round bulb, and B is usually a bulb that looks more like the candle bulbs. They are longer and more narrow,
