How to change a combination two switch light switch?
-
I just changed a combination two switch in my bedroom as the top switch stopped working. Now on the new switch only the top switch works. It turns on the ceiling fan and the light to the ceiling fan, the bottom switch does nothing. I connected the wires the same it was before and the bottom switch worked at that time? I was hoping to have the top switch turn the light on and the bottom control the fan. I am using the Leviton 15A 120/277V - I have on the left side the ground wire, a black wire, and a pinkish wire, on the right side a black wire....what am I doing wrong? Am I supposed to remove the break-off fin?

Answer:
Did you connect 'line power' to the "break-off fin" side of the switch? That'fin' is a jumper. If you connected 'load's to that side, then the switch you connected to 'line power' now controls both outputs.
