How do i repair full automatic washing machine?

Can someone teach me how to repair an Electrolux Washing Machine?

• I have an old washer bought some 5 years back at least. I know it an Electrolux model cos thats what it reads on the outside.I bought it used from a repairman. Doesnt come with anything else,except the Washer itself. Its Front Loading and it has the model no: imprinted on it.It reads EW 521F.My complaint is that this washer takes about 2-3 hours to complete an entire cycle of wash.Its simply too time consuming?Does anyone have any idea what i can do to shorten the washing time.Like perhaps changing the timer perhaps? is anyone good with Washers?I dont want to replace the darn thing,cos i know some washers last for years and they are rather costly these days to get another washer.Please advise if this can be salvaged.Would appreciate also the steps involved.Like say Step 1-Step 2 bla bla

  If the wash cycle has changed, the timer is defective. You can buy a new one, but you can't fix the old one. If the wash cycle has always been 2-3 hours, then there is nothing you can do. Changing the timer to a different type would be difficult and probably useless. An expert technician could do it, but what good would it do if the new cycle gets the cloths half-way clean? Better to replace it. If you buy a reconditioned washer from a repair shop, they don't cost much. And new ones can be found that are not expensive if you keep looking until you find one containing only the features you care about. Mayan
