Many kinds of vegetables and herbs grow well in containers. You first need to make sure you have a sunny location with 5+ hours of sun. And be sure to water regularly. I just started experimenting with growing vegetables, fruits, and herbs in a small space and in containers last summer. I found that beans (green and yellow) can be grown much closer together than the packages read. If you like green onions, you can plant a bunch of bulbs close together in pots. Tomatoes such as Roma, grape, and cherry do well in pots. I have also grown strawberries, and different varieties of raspberries. I did not do as well with lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower in pots. This year, I read a bunch of labels and did a little research and am trying the herbs (which many people are successful with) and added eggplant to the pots. Compost works well, mixed in with the soil in your garden. You can also now purchase organic soils by Miracle-Gro and many generic variations, which work quite well in the ground. Use a good potting soil in the containers. Start with just a few varieties to get yourself started this year. Keep a journal of what worked, and what didn't work, along with your notes from your research. Ask questions at nurseries/greenhouses and farmers markets. Search online. Experiment and have fun!

depends what vegetables. but most can be grown in a mini greenhouse, foam boxes, see a nursery about how to use them. usually, normal potting mix bought at any shop will do to grow them in.

There are tons of websites that talk about container gardening and growing veggies in containers. You do need special soil for containers (potting soil) and you need containers that are big enough for what you want to grow. I mix potting soil and compost in my containers and am growing Tomatoes, bell peppers, sweet banana peppers and green beans. Tomatoes need at least 5 gallons and peppers 3 gallons.

my main ideas are grow bags and huge pots ! and the lil plastic stage by stage treys ! OK grow bags are great for things that grow abouth the soil coz u cut the top of the grow bag off and when ur done with it u can just chuck it away ! grow bags are great for tomatos and things like that and cost about £3 or £4 and huge pots and no I aint mad but you can get really big deep pots whitch are good for potatos and radishes . And then the lil step by step plastic treys ¬! u start with the trey with the trey with the the smallest sections by puting in the seedling and putting soil over it and then you just keep going up and up till u get to the trey with the biggest sections and then you are 3 to plant it in a huge pot or a normall pot hope that helps x

if you have a small greenhouse a newer an quicker way to grow veg is hydroponics where the plats are basically help in fibreglass on grown in a nutirient liquid. this can grow tomatoes and peppers and the like much faster than normal methods - it make cost a bit more to start up but the results are amazing and very fast. plus its not as heavy to work and cleaner as no soil is used..

You can grow herbs in window boxes, and strawberries in pots but I am not sure about other vegetables.
