Which herbs are invasive?

Can mugwort be grown in the same hydroponic garden with other herbs?

  • I hear mugwort is rather invasive. If I planted it in the same AeroGarden as basil, or dill, or St. John's wort, would it choke the others out? Basically, I have two slots of an AeroGarden to use for herbs, and one Prepara Power Plant (http://www.prepara.com/power_plant.php). The herb seeds I have right now are mugwort, St. John's wort, sweet basil, and dill. I was thinking of planting two herbs in the power plant, one in front and one in back. Which herbs should go together in the indoor gardens?

  • Answer:

It would have to be a REEEEEEALLY big pot. Mugwort a) grows really big, and b) spreads rapidly, and will tend to beat up its neighbors and take their lunch money. I can't even picture it being confined to an Aerogarden.
