How To Plant Pechay?

How to plant a Hawaiian Good-Luck plant from a log cutting?

  • I ordered the plant and received 3 logs with no foliage or roots, or instructions on how to plant it to grow. It came with the 3 logs in a zip lock bag, 3 potting containers and soil. Does anyone know how it should be planted and cared for? I've read different things that confuses me. Some say soak the logs in water first, some say plant the log horizontally (but the pots are not wide enough for that), some say to make sure you plant the right end in (but do not say what end that is). Oh, and it has a wax like substance on each end of each log. When replying, please be very specific because I do not want any errors (not saying I'm that dumb...lol). Thank you in advance for any help. =0)

  • Answer:

Soaking is critical as even with the wax ends they are probably quite dry. You can do a bit of experimenting.......after initial soak over night, take on and put it into gravel in a tray or container. Keep water to the log at all times. Another plant as recommended.......horizontally......you need another pot. the third you plant with the log partially buried......guess which end, you have a 50:50 chance of getting it right.
