When and how to plant an apple tree?

• I think apple trees are sexy and I want to grow one because I've never grown anything before and I was wondering how and when to grow one. I live in south Carolina

• Answer:

  Do you want it to bear apples? Then you need two trees, ones that cross pollinate each other. Plant in the autumn. As wide as the tree is including soil, double the hole's width. Plant it as deep as it is in the pot when you buy it, add good dirt, water it in. Mulch around it. If you need more advice, you can email me.
