Tricertis or "Japanese toad lilly" are a truly beautiful fall bloomer. They are usually the last thing to bloom in the garden ( mine are just now getting buds) and have small clusters of orchid looking flowers. They are not very flashy but very cool. They grow best in part shade and wont thrive in full sun or a particularly wet area.
