Can I make good money as an architect?

I plan on being a landscape architect but it does make much money?

• I plan on getting my masters in landscape architecture at rutgers. However i know it might not pay well in the future. So what do you think i could do while im a landscape architect like open up a store but what type? or anything thanks

  Average salary is $68,000 a year, but not immediately. Takes time. Not knowing what your specialty is, look to getting on with a government agency: city, state, federal in land use planning, city planning, highway design/landscaping, etc. Also many engineering firms have an LA on staff. Of course large landscape companies often have an LA especially if they do a lot of large scale installations. Starting your own design/installation company, go where there is money! The average joe doesn't not want an LA's services, they are looking for cheap....(been there). Thinking of LA's I know: some are working in the MIddle East, some are working government jobs...some in design...mostly in land use planning, one is rep with landscape plants company, one works for a very large nursery in public relations, one is designer with landscape company, several are in charge of major hotel/resort grounds, several are school teachers and one never worked in the field at all. So keep your options open......don't assume you know what you'll end up doing...that will limit your options.
