  • help. my hibiscus is getting white fuzz on it's leaves that is killing it. the fuzz is on the underside. what is it and how do i stop it? thanks! :)

  • Answer:

sounds like woolly aphid use a recommended insecticide / fungicide...have a look and see if their are any signs of life in the white fuzz ..little black / Grey aphids if so give it a good spray as per manufacturers instructions..same if it is a fungus . but my guess is that if it is only on the underside ..its an aphid

Safer Plant Soap. Found at most hardware stores. Buy a spray bottle. Mist the plant with the soap after diluting the soap with water.

The white fuzz is bugs---pick one off and look at it with a mag. glass. you can put some cooking oil on a cloth and clean them off of the plant---being careful not to break the leaves. Sorry I can't remember the name of the bug---it sucks the life out of plants and often appears when the plant is brought in from outside. Maybe mealy bug.

You can spray them with a solution of lemon dish detergent 1 Tabl to 1 Gallon water, the white is either a residue from bugs, or white flies, but either way it dries it out, than boost them with some fertilizer to help them back.
