Can I freeze a rose?

Can I freeze rose petals?

  • Obviously this isn't the recommended thing to do, but I'm making my own beer with rose petals. I'm only putting in about one or two roses worth of petals (total guestimate) and I bought a box of petals at the store the other day with a lot more. I won't need to use them again for about a month so I'm wondering whether this would work? I already put them in the freezer because it was either that or let them wilt anyway. So really I have nothing to lose, just wondering what it would predictably do. Thanks!

  • Answer:

Hi Duker Obviously I have never frozen rose petals but since they don't contain a lot of water, it may work. You have already frozen them so why don't you take a few of them out, let them defrost and see what they look like?. That should tell you whether it is going to work or not. Hope this helps Johnny

Rose petals are one of the few things that dry without any harm. Try that.
