Do latex gloves cause hand allergic reaction?

Can a rubber plant cause allergic reactions to people?

  • I have recently bought a rubber tree into my house and have started to have a runny nose and bouts of sneezing! I know I do get an allergic reaction to latex gloves but could a rubber plant cause such symptoms or have I just caught a bit of a cold at the same time? Are there any plant experts that would know?

  • Answer:

It could be an allergic reaction or just a coincidence. Why not try putting it in another room and seeing if the symptoms disappear?

Anyone can be allergic to anything on this planet. Heck, some are even allergic to sun-lite.

Only toxic if ingested, you'll have upset stomach. Some people are sensitive to the sap - if their skin is exposed to it. Doubt seriously just having it in your house is contributing to your runny nose (usually caused by pollen.)
