Will this improve the Cation Exchange Capacity of my sandy soil?
-
Will the addition of Kaolin clay to my very sandy soil aid in moisture retention and CEC. I ask this as I have free access to as much Kaolin as I want. I have added many tons of manure to the soil already but I will add some of this Kaolin as well if it is a benefit.

Answer:
I think it might help retain water but I'm not sure if it will help the CEC. It does make sense that it would though because most of the clay soils I've had tested have a normal CEC but tend to tie up Iron. I've thought about aerating then applying Turface, clay products. Good luck.
