What is the stomatal density on the upper and lower epidermis of hibiscus and colacasia leaves?

Can my hibiscus be saved after being left out in the cold and its leaves die?

  • I left my hibiscus out in the cold while I was away for three weeks and the leaves have all died. Is it too late to bring them back if they are brought back inside? It looks pretty bad.

  • Answer:

Hibiscus are quick to shed their leaves when exposed to extreme weather changes. I brought two plants in 3 weeks ago and one dropped all it's leaves afterwards. Then recently it started sprouting new growth. They're pretty hardy if you don't let them stay too long in the cold. I would bring them inside, and if they make it, they make it. Hard to tell pending any new growth. Good luck

Chances are if your bring the plant back in it will recover. I had a hibiscus plant that was doing very well in the house and I put it outside when the weather was nice one day. The weather changed cold again and I got busy with other things in life and just forgot about it. Later, when I thought about it, every leaf was off and I thought it was dead. However, I still left it outside figuring its a goner. When the weather warmed up little bits of green started to show and before long it was a healthy plant again. I live in Canada so we get cold weather . Good luck.
